🏰 Windsor Castle: a family trail through history

Windsor Castle is hosting A Castle under Siege as a half-term activity from 24 October to 1 November 2026. Families can explore an activity inspired by the castle’s medieval siege history and pick up a children’s trail. It is not advertised as a dedicated Halloween party, but it offers a wonderfully atmospheric historical outing for the Halloween weekend.

Dates: Saturday 31 October and Sunday 1 November are within the advertised event period. Admission: the activity is included with castle admission; check ticket availability and any closures before setting off. The castle’s published winter opening hours begin on 1 November, so check the day-specific schedule.

🎃 Halloween fun at LEGOLAND Windsor

For families with younger monster-makers, LEGOLAND Windsor Resort’s Brick or Treat Halloween season runs on selected dates through Sunday 1 November. The resort advertises themed entertainment, LEGO Halloween scenes, character meet-and-greets, Lord Vampyre’s House Party and the Haunted House Monster Party attraction. It is a full theme-park day rather than a short town-centre event.

Tickets: the official page advertises prices from £37 per person, subject to date and availability. Check opening times, ride schedules and ticket conditions before booking.

Check dates and book Brick or Treat on the official LEGOLAND website.

👻 Windsor: The Dark Side — Halloween walking tour

Discover the town after dark on Windsor: The Dark Side, a Halloween walking tour exploring Windsor’s darker stories, royal tragedies, local folklore and tales of hauntings. The organiser’s listing gives two sessions on Saturday 31 October: 6.30pm–8pm and 8.30pm–10pm.

This is best suited to visitors who enjoy spooky storytelling and history on foot. Confirm the meeting point, age suitability, ticket availability and weather arrangements with the organiser.

🍳 The Ivy Windsor: Little Monsters Halloween Breakfast

Families can start Halloween day with a themed breakfast at The Ivy Royal Windsor Brasserie, close to the castle. The special Halloween Breakfast is advertised for Saturday 31 October and Sunday 1 November, with breakfast choices, seasonal treats and a Halloween toy for children. Fancy dress is encouraged.

Published prices: £32.50 per adult and £27.50 per child. The organiser says a non-refundable £10 deposit per person is taken when booking. Check the menu, seating times and availability directly.

🎆 Saturday night: Fireworks Spectacular at Ascot Racecourse

For a bigger evening out, Ascot Racecourse is advertising its Fireworks Spectacular Family Raceday for Saturday 31 October. The event combines the start of the jumps season with family entertainment and a fireworks display. It is in Ascot, a short trip from Windsor, rather than in the town itself.

Ticket types and prices can vary, so consult the organiser’s current information before travelling.

Our Windsor Halloween recommendation

For a royal-themed day, combine Windsor Castle’s half-term trail with a walk through the historic town centre. Families seeking rides and costumed entertainment may prefer LEGOLAND’s Brick or Treat, while adults and older children who enjoy folklore could book The Dark Side walking tour. For Saturday evening, look into the Ascot fireworks, and book The Ivy breakfast in advance if you want a relaxed start to Halloween.

Before you go: event schedules, ticket prices and availability can change. Check the linked official organiser pages before travelling, and plan transport and parking ahead for Saturday evening.
